We decided to use the leisure facility if you can call it that I was told no towels by reception so he got one from another room asi again expressed I was not happy.  I was tetchy as I had driven from Worcestershire to Cornwall then to Brighton. I asked about the steam room and sauna which he pointed us to.  He said steam room needed to follow instructions and it was quick to turn on.  I said OK.  When we got to the sauna it was cold and turned off by this point and having seen the state of the facilities I was way past been pissed off on this.  I was also feeling bad as I wanted my son to relax before his audition in the morning.  The steam room heated up in 5/10 mins so used that which was nice.  The spa bath was not hot at all and for some reason stones in the swimming pool possibly for effect.  The pictures of the leisure facility show the state of disrepair.

Never been to such a disgusting room in my life, how they have the nerve to let this room out was beyond me, the carpet was dated filthy and lumpy, pillows stains all over them, broken chair, chipped mugs, the list goes on, they should have paid us £92 to stay there, I wouldn’t let a dog stay there, needless to say we did not stay and we have to get in touch with yourselves for a refund

This was our second stay and won’t be our last! We love the whole White Hart experience. Food is delicious, service excellent and rooms are lovely. Beds extremely comfortable. Don’t be put off by historic reviews, the White Hart, now a Heartwood Inn, is a fabulous place to stay! Book a stay!

We have stayed here a few times. A Grade II listed building so expect creaky floors and slopes. Real Character. We last stayed in 2023. It was run down, awful, in need of investment, food opprtunities were missed, staff were disheartned and it was sad. Wind forward to 2025. Wow what a transformation. Heart Wood have made a serious investment. The rooms are amazing and the best night sleep ever. The veranda / dining room is stunning. There is a A Le Carte Menu and Classic Menu and Sunday Roast. Cannot wait to stay again. The only thing I will say is I didnt enjoy the breakfast at all. Sausages had a horrible herb after kick (normal pork sausages please.) And normal bacon not smoked streaky bacon...and normal bread...not rock hard sourdough.

Absolutely delicious……. We have not stopped talking about our evening meal since we left. It was our very first visit to this restaurant for us although our daughter and her partner had been once before and highly recommended a visit. From the starters through to puddings was mouth watering and hard to recommend any dish above another although for smell and taste the Pistachio Soufflé my wife had at the end would take some beating. Would highly recommend a visit to anyone

We arrived Thursday lunchtime. Parking a bit awkward but sorted Our room was ready which was early, it was newly opened late last yr and what a fantastic place, we were upgraded (thankyou so much) had booked in online and our room was beautiful, comfortable,as with rest of hotel ,beams throughout, decore is lovely, nice touch to have a selection of petit fours in room for us which were wonderful. Friendly, helpful staff and a wonderful welcome received. Dinner in a beautiful restaurant. Food was excellent, lovely flavours and excellent service by staff .great choice of cocktails. Breakfast next morning was quite and again great service and great breakfast choice . Only gripe was a guy was painting the doors /windows so had a smell of paint which wasn't great. All in all a wonderful overnight stop and we will be back. Thanks to all staff and managers for a delightful stay

Came for Sunday Lunch , thoroughly enjoyed , the decor is superb , we were shown to a table in the lighter part of the dinning room , given the option of sitting on the Terrance , despite the early March Sun , still tad chilly ( but when I return in the summer outside is a must ) we both choose the Pate , followed by the roast beef , just succulent and presentation superb, every me member of staff were professional and enthusiastic , the deserts looked very inviting but had eaten enough , maybe if I was being picky a small gravy boat as well , but honestly a excellent occasion....oh the choice of wines highly comprehensive , it was busy so booking is advisable , I plan to return !!...
